Floods in Kelapa Gading Receded

The road is now passable for vehicles

Flooding on several roads and residential areas in Kelapa Gading Sub-district, North Jakarta, has receded following the optimization of handling measures.

Kelapa Gading Sub-district Water Resources Acting Executing Unit, Slamet Riyanto said the water has receded since this morning because the water flow in all connecting channels has decreased.

"The road is now passable for vehicles. We are optimizing the stationary pumps at Betik River, Artha Gading, and BGR Kelapa Gading, as well as deploying 30 blue team personnel with two work shifts," he expressed, Thursday (1/30).

Previously, flooding was detected on several roads, such as Jalan Boulevard Utara (10 centimeters high), Jalan Pegangsaan Dua (30 centimeters high), and Jalan Hibryda Raya (40 centimeters high).

Then Jalan Boulevard Barat Raya (20 centimeters high), Jalan Kelapa Nias Raya (25 centimeters high), and Jalan Boulevard Raya (25 centimeters high).

"Our personnel are still monitoring the latest conditions in the field. The pumping station in Kelapa Gading is also still operational," he explained.

Kelapa Gading Sub-district Sub-district Head, Anita Permata Sari uttered the flooding on several roads had receded since Wednesday (1/29) evening.

"Yesterday evening, I directly reviewed the flood location and several evacuation posts. Alhamdulillah (thank God), since this morning, it has receded and the residents can return to business as usual," she stated.
